In the mood

After a long day at the office, or a long day at home, there's nothing your partner may be more in the mood for than a comfy pair of pajamas, a cozy blanket and some one-on-one time with the T.V. Getting your partner in the mood for romance may take a bit of creativity and patience.

To ensure mood-setting success, be sure to try the following tactics at tactful moments. Nothing can turn your partner "off" or leave your partner less in the mood than an inappropriately timed proposal, so to speak. So, before you try to get your partner in the mood, make sure the dishes are done and your partner isn't trying to talk to you about the family finances. Once the stars are aligned, try the following:

Romantic Music: Dim the lights, put on some slow music and pour your partner a glass of wine. Sit back in bed or on the couch and let the music take you and your partner back to a great slow dance memory. For the married couples out there, try putting on your wedding song. Take your partner's glass of wine away and lead him or her to the dance floor. Reenacting that special moment may be just enough to get your partner in the mood! No memories to reenact? That's O.K. Just let the soothing sounds of the music relax your bodies and mind. Your partner will be much more likely to succumb to your advances in a relaxed state of being. Once the worries of the day are behind you both, let romance take over.

Wild Ideas: There's nothing like a little mental foreplay to get your partner in the mood. Giving your partner something to think about throughout the day while he or she is without you may be just what your partner needs to be in the mood and ready for action in the evening. Before you both leave for work, whisper your intentions for an intimate evening. Be specific. Be sure to get your partner a bit flustered by your words. Your partner will surely be repeating them in his or her mind all day long! When you both get home and the mood and timing are right, be sure to carry through with your plan. You're sure to lose the mood and the power of suggestion in the future if you don't come through on your word the first time around!
Showered with Love: What's more relaxing at the end of the day than a long, hot shower? Not much. It's the perfect way to melt away the stresses of the day. Pair a great shower with a great partner, and you're on your way to an ideal romantic mood. It's so important to be relaxed in order to be in the mood. Why not have your relaxation and your turn on too? Having a partner in the shower to help wipe away the day while gearing up for the night can be just the thing both partners need to get in the mood.

And, always important to remember in romance, if at first you don't succeed, try, try again. You never know when the mood will strike.
